About the role:

Becker, MN

Hybrid Position

The Electrical Designer supports a major power generation upgrade project involving the conversion of a turbine generator into a synchronous condenser. You will focus on modernizing control systems by transitioning from legacy physical panels to a distributed control system (DCS). The Designer will help analyze, redesign, and develop electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to support the successful execution of the project.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Review and interpret existing electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Convert legacy image-based schematics into accurate vector-based drawings using AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Design new electrical schematics to support updated control systems and DCS integration
  • Ensure all electrical connections and controls are represented and functional
  • Support project execution by collaborating with engineers on system design and implementation
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues during project execution
  • Maintain clear and organized technical documentation


Qualifications:



  • 5-7 years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or engineering
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • 5+ years of experience with:

    • Electrical schematics
    • Wiring and connection diagrams
    • Industrial electrical systems


  • 1+ years of experience in industrial or utility environments
  • Familiarity with control systems (PLC, TCS, or DCS)
  • Motor control experience
