About the role:

Hybrid Role in Denver, CO

We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to support substation maintenance and equipment replacement projects across an active utility network. You will focus on brownfield upgrades and like-for-like replacements of critical substation equipment.

The engineer will lead projects from initial scope through execution, working with field crews, maintenance teams, and team members to ensure safe, and cost-effective delivery.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead replacement and upgrade projects for substation equipment, including:

    • Breakers
    • Switches
    • Transformers
    • Relays
    • Bushings and arresters


  • Define project scope and develop work packages
  • Perform troubleshooting and field investigations
  • Initiate projects and manage material requisitions and procurement
  • Modify and adjust designs in a brownfield environment (no greenfield)
  • Coordinate with construction crews and maintenance teams
  • Manage project schedules and timelines
  • Support execution through field presence and coordination
  • Ensure successful completion of maintenance and replacement activities


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience or interest in:

    • Substation equipment and systems
    • Field troubleshooting and maintenance


  • Work in brownfield/replacement environments
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience with substation projects or power systems
  • Familiarity with:

    • SAP
    • ProjectWise


  • Basic knowledge of PLC or logic programming
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (a plus)

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $71-76/hr.
