Business Overview

McKesson Pharmacy Systems (MPS) provides enterprisegrade pharmacy technology that powers the daytoday operations of health systems, large outpatient pharmacies, and complex multisite pharmacy environments. The Role

The Vice President / General Manager (VP/GM) of MPS & Supplylogix is responsible for the end to end leadership, strategy, and P&L performance of two commercial pharmacy technology businesses within McKesson's U.S. Pharmaceutical segment.

This role serves as the single senior leadership owner for a portfolio that includes enterprise pharmacy management platforms, supply chain intelligence, inventory optimization, and advanced analytics solutions serving health systems, outpatient pharmacies, and multi site pharmacy organizations. The VP/GM is accountable for growth, profitability, product strategy, innovation, customer outcomes, and team leadership, while positioning the businesses for long term relevance in an evolving pharmacy and healthcare technology landscape.

The successful candidate will balance short term performance delivery with long term portfolio modernization, operating as a true general manager while partnering closely with Distribution, Sales, Product Management, Technology, Finance, and Strategy leaders across McKesson. This role will manage an organization of over 200 people, and report directly to SVP of Commercial Strategy & Innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • General Management & P&L Ownership

    • Own full P&L accountability for MPS & Supplylogix, including revenue growth, margin delivery, expense management, and investment prioritization.

    • Establish and execute multi year business strategies aligned with McKesson's USPD and enterprise priorities.

    • Drive disciplined operating rhythms, forecasting accuracy, and performance management against AOP and long-range plans.

  • Strategy, Vision & Portfolio Leadership

    • Define a clear strategic vision for the combined MPS & Supplylogix portfolio, focused on customer value, scalability, and sustainable growth.

    • Lead portfolio evolution across core platforms, digital capabilities, analytics, and data driven services.

    • Identify and assess build, buy, partner, and sunset decisions to ensure long term competitiveness and return on invested capital.

  • Product, Technology & Innovation

    • Partner with Product Management and Technology leaders to prioritize roadmaps that balance stability, modernization, regulatory requirements, and innovation.

    • Champion customer driven innovation, workflow automation, and data enabled insights that materially improve pharmacy outcomes.

    • Ensure platforms meet high standards for security, reliability, compliance, and scalability.

  • Customer Success & Market Impact

    • Maintain strong executive relationships with key customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.

    • Ensure exceptional customer experience across implementation, support, account management, and ongoing value realization.

    • Serve as an executive sponsor for strategic customers and initiatives, reinforcing McKesson's role as a trusted partner.

  • Commercial & Growth Leadership

    • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Distribution teams to drive customer acquisition, retention, and expansion.

    • Optimize pricing, packaging, and go to market models to improve win rates, profitability, and long term stickiness.

    • Leverage MPS and Supplylogix capabilities to support McKesson's broader commercial and enterprise growth objectives.

  • People & Culture Leadership

    • Lead and develop a high performing, engaged leadership team spanning Product, Technology, Operations, and Customer Success.

    • Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement.

    • Attract, retain, and develop top talent while ensuring strong succession planning.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements
  • Required

    • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including senior general management or P&L ownership.

    • Demonstrated success leading enterprise technology, healthcare, SaaS, or data/analytics businesses.

    • Strong strategic orientation with the ability to translate strategy into execution.

    • Proven ability to lead complex, cross functional organizations and influence without direct authority.

    • Financial acumen and comfort managing revenue models, margins, and investment tradeoffs.

    • Executive communication skills suitable for senior leadership, customers, and board level discussions.

  • Preferred

    • Experience in pharmacy systems, healthcare IT, supply chain technology, or regulated environments.

    • Background in product led growth, platform modernization, and analytics driven solutions.

    • Experience operating within large, matrixed enterprises.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business, Technology, Marketing, or related discipline or 10+ years demonstrated experience. MBA or MIS degree preferred.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $238,700 - $397,800
