Position Title: Import/Export Specialist Position Summary: This position supports domestic and global shipment logistics for the Reference Standard and Critical Reagent (RSCR) Group within the Global Product Development & Supply / Global Quality organization. Primary role will be to support numerous aspects of shipping logistics/coordination and related shipping data management within the RSCR Operations group Key Responsibilities: * This role provides operational and logistical support for international shipments, including preparation of shipping documentation, coordination of international regulatory and customs paperwork, and end-to-end tracking of shipment readiness from document initiation through shipment greenlight. * The incumbent partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders-including laboratory teams, project managers, external vendors, and Quality Assurance-to ensure clear communication, alignment to business priorities, and timely execution of deliverables supporting clinical and commercial programs. * This position also involves maintaining a working understanding of how materials are prepared for shipment, including selecting appropriate containers, determining shipping temperature requirements, conditioning materials, and applying proper packing techniques for international shipments. * The individual will manage outbound logistical activities, including order consolidation, to support timely and compliant material distribution. * Success in this role requires the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with changing priorities, demonstrate strong attention to detail and data integrity, and contribute to continuous improvement of processes, systems, and team culture through collaboration, accountability, and adherence to comoany values. Qualification & Experience: * 3-7 years of experience in a shipping logistics environment (specifically scientific, not industrial). Hazmat Shipping Certification in shipping Hazardous Material is a must. * Experience supporting domestic and international shipment logistics, including preparation of shipping documentation, coordination of customs and regulatory requirements, and end-to-end tracking of shipment readiness. * Working knowledge of material shipment preparation, including container selection, temperature control, conditioning methods, packing techniques, and order consolidation to support compliant distribution. Preferably experience with shipping pharmaceutical and biologics material (no blood, pathogens or body fluids-we only ship reference standards for testing other materials). Broad experience in cold chain shipments for use in GxP laboratory environments. * Exposure to regulated environments (GMP, GLP, or comparable academic or industry standards) preferred; demonstrated attention for detail and documentation accuracy. * Basic experience with inventory management, sample tracking, or data entry systems; familiarity with electronic documentation systems, LIMS, or similar data tools is a plus. * Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, organized documentation and maintain accurate records to support operational, quality, and regulatory activities. * Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet timelines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. * Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional partners and follow directions from senior team members. * Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and a collaborative mindset, with willingness to learn, accept feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. * High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience required or BS/BA or Masters in logistics, procurement, supply chain, biological sciences, chemistry, engineering or related disciplines. Working Conditions & Physical Demands: This is a support role for commercial and clinical programs, including office work, teleconferencing, computer work, and attending meetings with regular time spent in controlled work areas supporting shipping and logistics activities. | |
