Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Fixed Asset Accountant for our Global Logistics client in Houston, TX. This is a critical role that ensures accurate recording, reconciliation, reporting, and analysis of fixed asset and intercompany transactions while safeguarding confidential employee and financial information and maintaining compliance with internal controls and applicable accounting standards.

This full-time role (40 hours/week) with the potential of conversion to FT hire and offers a pay rate up to $45/hour based on experience.

Essential Job Functions:

* Oversee the fixed asset accounting lifecycle across multiple entities, including asset acquisitions, capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals.

* Maintain and analyze the fixed asset register to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS as applicable).

* Prepare and review journal entries related to fixed assets and intercompany activity; ensure appropriate supporting documentation.

* Perform regular account reconciliations and audits of fixed asset and intercompany accounts; investigate and resolve variances.

* Monitor, allocate, and bill personnel costs between company entities; prepare and review intercompany billing statements and reconciliations.

* Partner with HR and departmental stakeholders to validate employee cost allocations, labor cost drivers, and related master data.

* Provide guidance on fixed asset policies/procedures and intercompany billing practices; contribute to process improvements and best practices.

* Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive personnel and financial information; uphold data privacy requirements and ethical standards.

* Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Need:

* Bachelor's degree in accounting

* 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including significant fixed asset accounting responsibility; intercompany accounting/billing experience strongly preferred.

* Proficiency with JD Edwards (JDE) or a similar ERP system; strong Excel skills.

* Demonstrated experience with account reconciliations, fixed asset reporting/analysis, and intercompany transaction matching and settlement.

* Solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and applicable regulations.

* High attention to detail with strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

* Experience improving fixed asset governance, intercompany billing processes, and related control
