Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Education and Experience Bachelor's degree preferred. Three or more years of security experience required. Preferably in a health care related facility. Knowledge in The Joint Commission Environment of Care, Life Safety & Emergency Operations chapters is preferred. Knowledge of NFPA Life Safety 101 and other related codes preferred. Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience preferred. Certification and Licensure Successful completion of International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Security Officer certification within 4 months of start date. Successful completion of the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Supervisor course within 8 months of start date. Level 3 TACT training certification within 12 months of start date. Must maintain this proficiency on an annual basis. Security certificate or designation through a recognized professional security organization preferred. Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Maintain valid proof of vehicle insurance. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy. Skills and Abilities Good interpersonal/communication skills. Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, access control and surveillance software. Special Physical Demands The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/move over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Level of Supervision Work is performed according to specific procedures and post orders, but the incumbent must make decisions using independent judgement required in order to adapt to complex situations. Supervises Directly supervises the daily activities of Security Coordinators, security officers, valet staff, and Security Access Specialist. Also directly supervises Security Operations Dispatchers and contracted staff where applicable. PAY RANGE: $59,973.61 - $89,960.42Mercyhealth is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
