Smiths Interconnect a Molex company is currently hiring for a Senior Operations Analyst for our Salisbury Maryland site.

Our Team

Responsible for managing the complete procurement and planning cycle, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with operational excellence to drive efficiency and cost savings across our supply chain operations.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze demand forecasts and historical data to develop accurate purchasing plans and inventory strategies
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms while maintaining quality standards
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize excess stock and stockouts
  • Coordinate with production, sales, and operations teams to align purchasing plans with organizational needs
  • Manage purchase orders, track shipments, and resolve delivery issues in a timely manner
  • Analyze spending patterns and supplier performance metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Maintain organized records of supplier contracts, pricing agreements, and performance data
  • Prepare reports and presentations on procurement activities, inventory status, and key performance indicators
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve supply chain processes and implement best practices
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, and supply chain planning
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems
  • Experience with creating Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to include formula and pivot tables
  • Experience with creating multiple purchase orders to include vendor communication
  • Experience with logistics coordination and vendor management
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities
  • Demonstrated experience in demand forecasting and inventory management
  • Proven supplier relationship management and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles and best practices
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing priorities

What Will Put You Ahead

  • APICS CSCP or similar supply chain certification
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with quality assurance and compliance requirements in procurement
