Lead, Shipping

This employee oversees the day-to-day operations of the shipping warehouse, which includes staff, inventory, and equipment, as well as shipping and receiving.

• Coordinate and administer the daily activities of the warehouse and shipping clerks
• Manage the department in the absence of the Department Manager
• Monitor filling and shipping queues and staff them sufficiently to avoid backlogs
• Monitor inventory to ensure sufficient supplies are available
• Perform Shipping Clerk duties as needed
• Monitor the warehouse for compliance with safety guidelines
• Maintenance of warehouse and shipping area, including equipment
• Receive all shipments
• Documentation of packing slip or invoice
• Responsible for count of pieces being received
• Storage and rotation of inventory

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
