Position Location
This position will be based in Quantico, VA and will require occasion travel of up to 10%.
Job Overview
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Database Administrator/Developer (SQL) oversees the delivery of business intelligence solutions across the Marine Corps enterprise. Manage deployment, maintenance, and support of data access tools and reports. This position is permanent salaried full time position with duty at USMCB Quantico and Stafford, VA in support of the USMC.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
- Provide asset data analysis and reporting support.
- Establish a repeatable process and support the analysis and validation of data extracted from various asset discovery tools in order to determine the accuracy of the software discovery capability for various software products in use within the USMC.
- Assist in establishing the data mappings between data elements in the different discovery tools in order to ensure the data is normalized within a license management database.
- Use multiple sources and formats to create coherent software product discovery reports for Program Manager, Customer Support and Strategic Sourcing, Software Project Managers, IT Asset Managers and other stakeholders. These reports require a high level of comprehensive analysis to ensure data integrity is maintained and information presented is complete and accurate.
- Use Structured Query Language (SQL) to manipulate data in order to perform data analysis. Examples of approved database technologies, to perform data analysis, includes Oracle and MS SQL Server.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of reports to ensure accuracy of the results and standardization of processes and procedures across the team of analysts.
- Support the identification and cataloging of software procurement data.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management of comprehensive and accurate products timely submitted according to the Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRL) to the customer.
- Maintain effective working relationships with the Safety and Quality Control departments.
- Exercise sound independent judgment.
- Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, predict consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of company goals.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all USMC Government and Chugach Team members.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Keeping the Project Manager apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.
- Timely and cost-effective performance of duties.
- Harmoniously working with other Chugach employees and customers.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Ability to be on-site at Quantico, VA or 105 Tech Parkway, Stafford, VA daily.
- Firm understanding and ability to use Structured Query Language databases such as Microsoft SQL Server
- 3+ years' experience in SQL Server development. Designing data structures (tables/views/indexes), T-SQL programming (stored procedures and functions).
- SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- Visual Studios, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), PowerShell, and Power BI experience highly desired.
- Ability to analyze data migration plans to include mapping of source to target databases.
- Ability to communicate effectively with project leaders and senior management regarding key milestones, success criteria and risks.
- Expert in database design for relational database management including data warehouse, data mart, and data mining.
- Must have knowledge/skill of PL/SQL scripting for Oracle Database.
- Ability to use SQL Developer, write DDL statements and to effectively create and analyze various database schemas.
- Prior experience with Oracle Database Administration (DBA) 11g/12c, E-Business Suite 12.2.x, PL/SQL, ASM/RAC, Application Clustering, Recovery Manager (RMAN), Rapid Clone, Auto Config and UNIX/Linux Scripting (Shell Script) preferred.
- Demonstrated ability and experience to perform Database Administration duties with similar scope of work.
- BS degree from an accredited institution or 8 years of relevant technical experience.
- IAT Level II.
- CompTIASecurity+ CE certification preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug screening.
Preferred:
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
Working Conditions:
- This position is primarily performed in an office setting using standard office equipment (desk, computer, phone, printer, copier, etc.).
- Work may require occasional weekend work, evening work, and CONUS travel.
Physical Requirements:
- Work requires the ability to operate a computer and work in a standard office environment, effectively communicate information in verbal and written form, read and review information and charts, perform analytical thinking skills, use sound judgement.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods and the ability to lift 50 pounds.
