Job Summary

The short-term Student Services Analyst Senior of Career Services is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive career services programs that support student success, academic achievement, career exploration, and post-completion employment outcomes. This role provides data-informed strategic leadership, coordinating resources and leveraging student and labor market data to ensure services are effective, accessible, and aligned with the college's mission, Guided Pathways framework, and equity goals.

The Student Services Analyst Senior (Short-term) leads the design and assessment of high-impact, evidence-based career programming, using disaggregated data to identify student needs, evaluate program effectiveness, and inform targeted interventions that improve engagement, completion, and placement outcomes. By translating data into actionable insights, the role ensures Career Services programming remains relevant, responsive to workforce demand, and impactful, while advancing equitable access to career readiness and employment opportunities for all students.

This position will provide support to all GateWay campuses: Washington, Central City, 18th street and Deer Valley

Essential Functions

25% - Strategic Leadership and Program Development
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive career services programs and initiatives. Establish strategic goals, priorities, and performance metrics aligned with institutional mission, Guided Pathways, and equity-centered student success strategies. Identify emerging workforce trends and ensure programming aligns with labor market demand and industry needs.

20% - Data Analysis and Assessment
Collect, analyze, and interpret student engagement, completion, and employment outcome data to evaluate program effectiveness. Utilize disaggregated data to identify equity gaps, inform targeted interventions, and improve student access and outcomes. Develop reports, dashboards, and recommendations to guide leadership decision-making and resource allocation. Monitor key performance indicators related to career readiness, job placement, and post-completion outcomes, including First Destination Outcomes Completion Rate; percentage of graduates with documented employment, transfer, or continuing education outcomes; and employment in field of study or related career pathway where available.

15% - Program Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
Implement assessment frameworks to measure the impact of career services programs and student engagement initiatives. Recommend and implement evidence-based improvements to enhance service delivery and student experience. Ensure compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and reporting requirements.

15% - Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with academic departments, advising, workforce development, and student support services to integrate career readiness into the student experience. Collaborate with faculty and staff to embed career exploration and employment preparation within academic pathways. Build and maintain relationships with external employers, community partners, and workforce organizations.

15% - Student Success and Equity Advancement
Promote equitable access to career resources, employment opportunities, and workforce pathways for diverse student populations. Develop targeted strategies to support underserved and underrepresented students in achieving career goals. Support holistic student development through career planning, skill-building, and employment readiness initiatives.

10% - Operational Oversight and Resource Coordination
Coordinate staffing, technology, and program resources to ensure efficient service delivery. Support training and professional development initiatives for career services staff. Ensure services are accessible, responsive, and aligned with best practices in higher education and workforce development.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, sociology, business administration or related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible student services experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

A. Master's degree in counseling, psychology, human resources, talent development, management, education, sociology, business administration, or a closely related field.
B. Experience with career development theories, counseling practices, workforce trends, and student success strategies.
C. Experience presenting to large and diverse groups of students, staff, faculty, and/or community partners.
D. Experience analyzing student data to identify equity gaps, inform targeted interventions, and support continuous improvement of career services programs.
E. One (1) year full-time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two (2) years
