The mission of the Microelectronics Research Center (MRC) at the University of Texas at Austin, is to perform education, research and development in materials and electronic devices. MRC is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) through the National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI). MRC is part of the top-ranked Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department, which is the largest department in the Cockrell School of Engineering with more than 2,200 students and 74 tenured and tenure-track faculty. Purpose

The Administrative Assistant will help support Microelectronics Research Center professors, their student employees, postdoctoral fellows, research staff, visiting research scholars and other external partners throughout the work week; providing assistance with PO requests, receiving, vouchering, Procards, account management, and travel requests. They will also help produce and maintain social media content.

Responsibilities
  • Reconcile accounts and provide financial reports on a monthly basis.

  • Manage all incoming grants, travel requests, POs, Procard, and UTMarket orders.

  • Provide ordering, receiving and vouchering service for professors and their groups.

  • Work with faculty to secure student appointments each semester.

  • Create and manage social media content for the Center.

  • Coordinate research and education efforts with external partners.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Three (3) years of clerical experience.

  • One (1) year of experience at the Senior Office Assistant level or similar position.

  • Ability to work in a team setting and in cooperation with others.

  • Ability to follow directions and learn new processes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with word processing, internet research, and spreadsheets.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Possess organizational and time management skills.

Salary Range

$41,000+ depending on qualifications

Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment.

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

  • Use of manual dexterity.

  • Extended work hours may be required.

Work Shift
  • Standard work schedule is Monday - Friday, between 8:00am - 5:00pm

  • Flexible hours and hybrid work arrangement available
