DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports residents by providing essential hands-on care under the guidance of licensed staff. It focuses on maintaining safety, comfort, and respect in a home-like setting. As a part-time Nurse Aide, you will perform the following duties:

  • Resident Support: Assist residents with daily living tasks such as bathing, grooming, toileting, transfers, and mobility
  • Care Assistance: Help with meals, distribute nourishments, collect trays, and support feeding needs
  • Health Monitoring: Gather and report vital signs, observe resident conditions, and communicate changes to nursing staff
  • Safety Practices: Maintain clean and organized resident areas, follow universal precautions, and report hazards immediately
  • Documentation Tasks: Record care and services on required forms in alignment with all standards
  • Transport Aid: Escort or transport residents to activities, appointments, or outdoor areas following safety rules

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Part-time employment, 20 hours per week
  • Work hours are 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM) and 3rd shift (10:00 PM to 6:30 AM), rotating days and weekends, with a 30-minute lunch. This position requires working every other weekend and alternating holidays.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Hourly Rate: In some cases, the starting hourly rate may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
  • Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
  • This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Previous long term care experience

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
