The Restoration Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and performing the construction phase of ecological restoration projects, ensuring that restoration designs are implemented effectively, safely, and in accordance with project specifications, permits, and environmental regulations. This role coordinates closely with contractors, field crews, clients, and internal technical staff to support the successful execution of restoration initiatives, including activities such as site preparation, stream and wetland construction, vegetation installation, and related restoration construction practices. This position may require out-of-town or extended stay work based on specific project locations. Working over weekend hours is not anticipated.

In addition to construction oversight, this position contributes to broader project management efforts within the North Carolina office and surrounding region. The Restoration Construction Project Manager supports project development, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination while helping ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope. The role requires strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate project teams, monitor construction progress, address field challenges, and maintain alignment between construction activities, project goals, and client expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Project Planning and Management
* Follow and implement the design plans, according to the schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
* Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to ensure successful project delivery.
* Coordinate with construction contractor, engineer, and project manager to ensure the project is being constructed to appropriate standards.
Site Assessment and Preparation
* Conduct daily site assessments to ensure project is on schedule and built to plan.
* Evaluate and assess site activities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, best practices, and design specifications.

Resource Management
* Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
* Ensure the efficient and effective use of resources to meet project schedules and goals.

Quality Control and Regulatory Compliance
* Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure project standards are met.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations, permits, and project requirements.
Reporting and Documentation
* Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily field reports, permits, and records.
* Provide regular updates to clients, stakeholders, and project managers regarding project status.

Project Management Support and Coordination
* Support broader project management activities for the North Carolina office, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with internal teams and clients.
* Assist with proposal development, including preparation of technical approaches, schedules, and cost inputs for restoration construction components.
* Support business development efforts and contribute technical expertise to help expand restoration services and support the continued growth of the North Carolina office.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
* At least 3 years of experience in construction (earthmoving, sitework, etc.) or ecological restoration implementation.
* Demonstrated proficiency with fundamental elevation data collection and surveying.
* Experience reading and comprehending design plans and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resources, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Familiarity with environmental compliance requirements related to restoration construction, including permit conditions, erosion and sediment control practices, and environmental protection measures.
* Experience supporting project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, and tracking project performance.
* Demonstrated ability to lead coordination between field teams, contractors, engineers, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
* Experience participating in client meetings, progress updates, and project coordination discussions.
* Experience assisting with proposal development, including contributing technical input, schedules, cost estimates, or construction approaches.
* Familiarity with developing or reviewing project cost estimates and budgets for restoration or construction-related work.
* Demonstrated interest or experience in supporting business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities, supporting proposal preparation, and contributing to regional growth initiatives.
* Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Excel-based tracking tools, or similar systems).
* Proficiency with GIS and/or AutoCAD software.

Work Environment
This position primarily involves outdoor fieldwork in a variety of terrain and weather conditions, including work in remote or challenging locations. Overnight travel is expected and is based on project location. Work in and around heavy machinery is expected and necessary as part of this position. A mix of remote and in-office work is also expected to support project management tasks, reporting, and project development.

This position is a remote hybrid role, meaning employees will work remotely in the field but may be required to come into the Hendersonville, North Carolina office to retrieve their company vehicle and/or equipment each day or on an as needed basis for training or other job needs.

Working Conditions: Mixed outdoor field, active construction sites, and indoor office work.

Supervisor Responsibilities: Direct reports none but supervision of construction field staff on job sites is a responsibility.

Physical Requirements: Conduct normal job duties and be able to conduct site visits or assist with field assessments and field work as necessary.

Travel Requirements: Occasional overnight travel will be required. Valid driver's license required.
