Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): Arizona, Texas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma

This Regional Security Consultant position is in our Corporate Security group within the Corporate Real Estate group.

This Regional Security Consultant position is the primary security adviser for branches, offices, and operational facilities. Assesses site physical security risk and identifies emerging threats and trends through analysis. Recommends, implements and maintains controls appropriate to mitigate risks. Leads incident/crisis readiness and response, enables Lines of Business (LOB) through liaison and exercises, approves security system designs produced by Technology/Security Engineering, oversees installations and commissioning with risk-based guidance, and conducts final project reviews/acceptance. The role emphasizes partnership with regional leadership, site managers, law enforcement, and cross-functional teams to measurably reduce operational and physical security risk across a high-profile banking footprint.


Responsibilities

  • Business Support - Serve as a technical consultant on physical security risks, impact, and corresponding liability for executive management and other key business stakeholders. Collaborates on the development and implementation of protective measures, procedures, and risk solutions. Creates system designs and manages security systems within assigned facilities. Provides ongoing monitoring and technical support for installed security systems.
  • Security Risk and Controls Management - Conduct comprehensive physical security risk assessments for branches, offices, and operational facilities. Identifies vulnerabilities across facilities, personnel, procedures, and vendors. Recommends, implements, and ensures the functional maintenance of controls appropriate to mitigate risks within the Bank's defined risk appetite. Produces risk ratings, mitigation plans, and prioritized roadmaps with risk- plans, and prioritized roadmaps with risk-reduction rationale; track action plans to closure.
  • Incident Resolution - Manages incidents of crimes and other circumstances that occur on Bank premises or impact Bank operations, associates, or clients. Works closely with law enforcement officers to support legal response and investigation. Provides advice, maintains incident records, and collects possible evidence. Facilitates the restoration of security and normal operations.
  • Security Expertise - Maintains a strong current awareness of security-related regulations, criminal codes, and industry or forecasted changes. Builds relationships with business partners, public officials, and industry peers to facilitate information sharing. Develops an awareness of like problems and innovative solutions within the industry.
  • Compliance - Ensure adherence to Bank Protection Act, physical security regulations and guidance, and internal security policies and standards. Maintain audit-ready documentation. Monitor control health, escalate material gaps, and drive corrective action plans through completion.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Industrial Security or Law Enforcement OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Industrial Security or Law Enforcement

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Private Industry or Public Sector Physical Security
  • Knowledge of Bank Protection Act
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-53, FFIEC, PCI, ISO 27001 physical security guidance, security lighting regulations, physical security risk and controls management
  • Knowledge in criminal codes relevant to crimes against persons and property
  • Experience in physical security technology, crime prevention through environmental design, industry standards, security operations, and practices
  • Experience in retail banking operational processes

Skills:

  • Knowledge of physical and electronic security technology
  • Knowledge of crime prevention through environmental design concepts, security lighting regulations and industry standards, legal implications of security system implementation, premises liability, and negligence
