PCOM South Georgia is seeking a qualified individual to educate Osteopathic medical students in Pharmacology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Educate medical students in pharmacology across a two-year preclinical curriculum with a primary focus on chemotherapeutic agents including anti-infectives and antineoplastics.

  • Create educationally appropriate assessment questions for osteopathic students.

  • Serve in leadership and membership capacities on college and campus committees.

  • Evaluate student progress in learning appropriate medical and scientific knowledge. Communicate these evaluations to the student and administrative/faculty members as appropriate.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Three (3) years of teaching experience is required, preferably in a medical school.

  • Experience in teaching pharmacology is required.

  • Experience in active learning is preferred.

  • Experience in a collaborative approach to education is preferred.

  • Open to non-traditional research.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • A Ph.D. in Pharmacology (or related field) or Pharm.D. degree is required.

Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, education, and the responsibilities of the role.

The referenced salary range is based on PCOM good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
