Each department is dedicated to providing service excellence, value and enrichment of the student experience in support of academic success.
NC State Dining provides campus wide food services to students, staff, and faculty on the North Carolina State University Campus. NC State Dining operates 10 cafes, 3 food courts and 6 dining halls, 4 markets, 1 restaurant, vending, a nutritional counseling service, and a catering department. The department employs approximately 1000 temporary and student employees and approximately 180 permanent

Food Service Supervisor to manage the daily operations at
Atrium food court. This is a
working supervisory position, meaning you aren't just managing from an office-you are on the front lines leading your team during peak service periods to ensure every student and faculty member receives an exceptional dining experience.
We are seeking a professional who is philosophically and operationally committed to efficiency, brand excellence, and the unique service needs of the NC State community.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Supervise daily unit management, ensuring all brand standards for food quality, drink preparation, and customer service are strictly maintained. Peak Performance: Lead by example by directing service flow and supporting the team during the busiest dining hours. Administrative Management: Handle essential business functions including planning, forecasting, ordering, and budgeting. Team Development: Oversee hiring, training, coaching, and employee relations. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of team building and professional growth. Systems & Safety: Utilize menu management systems and ensure all operations comply with health codes, sanitation standards, and safety regulations. Problem Solving: Address and resolve routine operational challenges and customer concerns with professionalism and poise.

| Other Responsibilities |
- Model the Division's mission and values, introduce the Division's mission and values to the employees, and foster a positive, cohesive workplace and congeniality among co-workers.
- Understand the goals and culture of the organization, and understand how employees' work activities, teamwork, and customer service impact clients. Work with your supervisor and colleagues to understand these goals and the culture.
- Adhere to all University policies, procedures, and regulations, and Division standard operating practices and protocols.
- Due to operational needs of the NC State Dining department, an employee may be assigned to work in any NC State Dining department including, but not limited to special events.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure NC State Dining business needs are met.

Qualifications
| Minimum Experience/Education |
High School diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in food preparation or service activities in a commercial kitchen; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. |
| Preferred Qualifications |
- Proven track record in food service supervision and management (including inventory and budget oversight) in a high volume food establishment.
- Customer service experience.
- Strong verbal and written skills to interact professionally with customers, peers, and University leadership.
- Comfortable using PCs, MS Office Suite, and email; ability to quickly learn new department-specific software.
- Understanding of cooking methods, measurements, food safety, health codes and kitchen equipment.
