Summary/ Objective:
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing, processing, and coordinating outgoing shipments to ensure products are delivered accurately, safely, and on time. This position supports warehouse and logistics operations by maintaining shipping records, verifying inventory, packaging materials, and communicating with carriers and internal departments. The Shipping Clerk must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 6 AM until production is completed.
Essential Functions:
Prepare, package, label, and process outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently
Verify shipment contents against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices
Coordinate with carriers and transportation providers for pickup and delivery schedules
Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems to track shipments and inventory
Maintain accurate shipping records, logs, and documentation
Inspect products for damages or discrepancies prior to shipment
Assist with receiving incoming materials and verifying inventory counts as needed
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and shipping procedures
Utilize reporting and inventory metrics to support warehouse efficiency and accuracy
Communicate effectively with internal departments, customers, and vendors regarding shipment status
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
Support cycle counts and inventory control activities
Assist with process improvements and best practices within shipping and warehouse operations
Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts (if certified)
Meet productivity and accuracy standards established by management
Competencies:
Knowledge of warehouse, shipping, and logistics procedures
Familiarity with shipping carriers, freight processes, and inventory systems
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Basic computer and data entry proficiency
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position is not a supervisory role and does not have any direct reports.
Work Environment:
This job operates primarily in a warehouse environment with regular exposure to moving equipment, varying temperatures, and moderate noise levels. This position requires the use of warehouse equipment, computers, scanners, printers, and shipping software. Employees may work near loading docks, storage racks, and forklift traffic and are expected to follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have:
Stand and walk for extended periods of time

Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to use a keyboard and type proficiently
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Travel:
This position does not include overnight or branch travel.
Forklift certification preferred but not required
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous warehouse, shipping, or logistics experience preferred
Experience using shipping software, scanners, or warehouse management systems preferred
Basic computer proficiency required
