CAS is currently seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. This is a hybrid role.

Job Summary:

The Senior Corporate Counsel provides business and legal guidance and risk analysis to all CAS functional areas. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collaborating with cross-divisional teams and management to plan and execute strategic business initiatives, supporting a global Sales team, negotiating and drafting a wide variety of commercial agreements and maintaining strong relationships with management, project teams, and peers across CAS. This role requires a focus on timeliness, continuous communication with stakeholders, a positive customer experience and an aim to find a win-win solution to move business initiatives forward.

Job Accountabilities:



  • Regular attendance at your work location on the Columbus campus is a requirement of this role
  • Negotiate and draft a wide variety of complex commercial agreements with an emphasis on licensing of ACS/CAS intellectual property through CAS products and services, content acquisition for use in CAS products and services, software licensing and engagement of consulting and professional services to enable revenue generation, execution of strategic initiatives and other business asset exchange and acquisition agreements
  • Collaborate with cross-divisional teams, management and Columbus executive leadership to execute strategic business initiatives
  • Provide business and legal guidance and risk analysis to management, executive leadership and CAS functional areas including, but not limited to, Technology, Product Development, Content Operations, Marketing, Sales and Facilities
  • Support a global Sales and Services team with a customer base spanning across the Americas, EMEA and APAC
  • Maintain strong relationships with management, project teams, and peers across CAS
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:



  • D. from an accredited law school
  • 12+ years of relevant in-house or law firm experience
  • Extensive experience advising and counseling clients and drafting and negotiating domestic and international complex commercial, information technology and licensing agreements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
