Essential Job Duties
The Assistant Director of High-Impact Experiences provides programmatic leadership, operational management, and strategic support for experiential learning initiatives within the Poole College of Management. Reporting to the Director of High-Impact Experiences, this position plays a key role in supporting the newly established Sales Excellence Certificate while advancing the college's broader High-Impact Experiences portfolio.
This role is responsible for managing program operations, enhancing student engagement, supporting cross-campus and external partnerships, and ensuring the quality and scalability of experiential learning opportunities. The Assistant Director supports the continued growth of experiential education initiatives by overseeing day-to-day program execution and collaborating with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Excellence Certificate Program Management

  • Manage the full lifecycle of the Sales Excellence Certificate program, including marketing, communications, admissions, enrollment, student engagement, and outcomes assessment.
  • Coordinate student participation in sales and case competitions, including the development of consistent processes, timelines, and support resources.
  • Serve as co-advisor to the NC State Sales Club, supporting student leadership, engagement, and alignment with program goals.


High-Impact Experiences Oversight

  • Conduct reviews of High-Impact Experience initiatives to maintain an updated inventory and ensure program quality and consistency.
  • Lead the certification process for High-Impact Experiences and collaborate with faculty and staff to strengthen experiential learning offerings across the college.

Business HIRE Program Coordination

  • Direct marketing, recruitment, and internship placement efforts for the Business High-Impact Rural Experiences (HIRE) program.
  • Facilitate connections between undergraduate students and employers to support meaningful, career-relevant learning experiences.

Future Ready Initiative Support

  • Provide operational and administrative support for the implementation of the Future Ready initiative.
  • Collaborate with the MIE Department and Poole Career Center to integrate High-Impact Experiences into the Future Ready framework.

Partnership Development and Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain cross-campus partnerships to expand interdisciplinary experiential learning opportunities.
  • Build and support relationships with employers, alumni, and community organizations to enhance program offerings and student engagement.

Practicum Course Coordination

  • Lead marketing, application, and enrollment processes for practicum courses.
  • Support effective student-employer matching and promote equitable access to experiential learning opportunities.

This position is essential to the continued growth and success of experiential learning initiatives within Poole College. Through effective program management, collaborative partnership development, and operational leadership, the Assistant Director enhances student access to high-quality, career-connected learning experiences and supports the college's commitment to preparing students for evolving workforce demands.

In addition to the core responsibilities of this role, there will be occasional opportunities to take on additional duties. This offers an opportunity to build on your skills, explore new areas, and gain a deeper understanding of the department's operations.
Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, higher education administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in program management, student services, or experiential learning environments.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Strong program and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across varied stakeholders (students, faculty, employers).
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across campus and with external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing program logistics and data tracking.
  • Ability to analyze program effectiveness and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in higher education administration, business, or a related field.
  • Experience in program management, experiential learning, or student success initiatives in a higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated experience working with external partners, employers, or community organizations.
  • Experience supporting or advising student organizations or co-curricular programs.
  • Familiarity with sales education, business curricula, or career development programming.
