Overview

The Senior Audience Growth & Creative Lead is a strategic leader with expertise in audience growth across social, SEO and newsletters. This role will be focused on elevating and driving audience to MSN and MAI content through new top of funnel strategies. This role is responsible for cultivating new audiences through social-first content formats, newsletter distribution, SEO and other innovative audience growth strategies. This role is an editorial role that requires solid editorial judgement, creative thinking, an obsessive knowledge of social media trends, engagement data and a passion for scaling audiences.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.



Responsibilities
  • Establish and evolve the creative direction for MSN socials, focusing on the editorial, creative vision, original and native content formats that drive and grow audience.
  • Drive audience engagement and referrals to MSN content on legacy social.
  • Be responsible for driving overall brand awareness for MAI editorial products.
  • Drive social engagement and growth of MSN editorial through social first storytelling and formats.
  • Develop and execute a robust newsletter strategy to acquire new audience to MSN content.
  • Develop a creator strategy that aligns with business and editorial objectives.
  • Cross collaborate with the VP of Content and Director of Content on key editorial initiatives to drive audience during signature editorial events, i.e. World Cup.
  • Cross collaborate with key Microsoft marketing and social teams to promote the innovations in MAI content.
  • Think creatively and drive execution of audience growth.
  • Analyze data, performance and audience growth across platforms and report findings to key stakeholders.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 3+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work experience
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 2+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related experience
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 5+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a formal, management capacity
  • Experience building creative vision and editorial standards for social distribution.
  • Proven excellence in editing, critical thinking and adhering to editorial standards and guidelines.
  • Proven experience scaling and growing audiences on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
  • Track recordof leading social teams and creative social content at a high volume in a newsroom environment.
  • An understanding and ability to get in the weeds and create social content when needed; this includes the possibility of editing videos, creating graphics, and publishing across social platforms.
  • Proven experience in launching and scaling newsletter audiences.
  • Proven experience working in SEO optimization.
  • Experience with GenAI content.
  • Editorial, newsroom and social media experience.

Integrated Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400.00 - $203,600.00 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600.00 - $222,600.00 per year.
