The Electronic Technician, Level 4 will be responsible for performing repairs to electronics and electrical systems on Company equipment and trucks. Work includes leading less experienced technicians in performing preventive maintenance (PM) inspection and the rebuild, replacement and repair of components and systems as well as assisting department management in identifying training needs and assisting in project planning. This position works under the direction of the Supervisor Electronics, with a dotted reporting line to the Manager Electronics. Detailed Description:
- Comply with all Company and customer Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies, rules, practices, and guidelines
- Lead in troubleshooting and repair work on mechanical, electrical, and networking equipment
- Adhere to internal and external standards and regulations of safely operating and maintaining assigned Company equipment
- Perform and train preventive maintenance (PM) inspections on mounted equipment and vehicles on a regular basis under minimum supervision
- Prepare daily repair orders associated with repair, maintenance, and inspection to ensure proper record keeping for all work done
- Train and perform rigging up and rigging down duties
- Lead and mentor other Electronic Technicians to drive individual performance goals and ensure overall performance aligns with Company standards
- Be available by phone or email for remote troubleshooting on jobsites
- Willingness to adjust working hours based on needs and to travel between multiple working jobsites

Job Requirements:
- Able to successfully meet pre-employment testing requirements
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all designated times
- Must be able to provide own basic set of tools
- Possess ability to perform inspections and repairs on electrical and electronic devices
- Demonstrate clear communication skills including ability to read, write and speak English, and to promptly follow verbal and written directions in English along with the ability to establish and maintain effective rapport with all employees at different levels both in the office and in the field
- Demonstrate the ability to create, update or modify electronics documentation to include, training materials, electronic procedures and troubleshooting guides
- Demonstrate the ability to work well with others, and work independently when required
- Ability to safely navigate work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc., during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather) and while utilizing designated personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Must be able to work closely with others and under time-sensitive deadlines including potential emergency response situations
- Actively lead other technicians by prioritizing repairs and helping with higher level troubleshooting
- Identify training needs and develop or source solutions
- Ability to create and teach training and service documentation
- Able to perform simple mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, to make job related calculations
- Requires bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and crawling, walking on uneven surfaces, and climbing equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shift
- Willing to work extended schedules that may include days or nights, as well as weekends and holidays in different weather conditions
- Ability to travel as needed to other regions and work sites, requiring extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside regional office area
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to provide own basic set of tools
- Must have and maintain valid state-issued driver's license, be eligible to drive a Company vehicle and meet the requirements of the Company's vehicle program, policy and/or guidelines
- Experience with the following programs is required: Cat ET, Cummins Insite, Rolligon Tech Tool, PuTTY, and HyperTerminal
- Internal Applicants: 4 years' experience as an Electronic Technician, successfully meeting all competency requirements
- External Applicants: Certificate of Completion from an accredited technical or trade school specializing in electronics repair, troubleshooting and/or diagnostics with 4+ years' experience as an Electronic Technician in cementing/fracturing industry or related position; industry or related position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in repair and maintenance of heavy equipment
- Experience in the Oil & Gas industry; familiar with oilfield equipment
- Experience in Networking, Multi-pump controls systems, Data Acquisition Systems
- Experience with Communication Protocol: J1939, CANbus, RS-232 Serial, RS-485, and HART
Additional Details: The Electronic Technician, Level 4 must work with an emphasis on individual safety and safety for others, including coworkers and third parties. This position includes working outdoors for long periods of time in all types of weather conditions typical of the area where the job is located, including dust, humidity, sleet, snow, rain, mud, cold, heat, wind, and other inclement weather. Working conditions for this position may involve exposure to varying outdoor conditions, including environmental chemicals, gases, noise, dampness, fumes, radiation, and heights.
