The Morini Laboratory at the Center for Genomic Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), is seeking a highly motivated Research Technician to support ongoing translational research focused on developing gene editing and pharmacological therapies for Familial Dysautonomia (FD), a rare neurodegenerative disorder.
The successful candidate will play a key role in testing novel gene editing approaches and small-molecule compounds in a mouse model of FD. Responsibilities include conducting efficacy studies, genotyping, tissue processing, behavioral assays, and molecular biology techniques such as qPCR, Western blotting, and RNA analysis. We are looking for a results-driven, team-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently at the bench. A background or strong interest in neuroscience, human genetics, and/or therapeutic development is highly desirable. Prior experience with mouse handling and colony management is strongly preferred. No Essential Functions -Executes protocols of non-routine experiments. -Assists PI with determining the most suitable methodology. -Performs basic design and modication of protocols. -Calculates, transcribes, and analyzes data. -Prepares and presents reports. -Organizes and summarizes acquired data using scientic and Statistical Techniques. -Participates in the design of experiments or eld work.
