Software Engineer (DATA HEAVY)
Hybrid, Dallas, TX area - W2 Only


What You'll Do:

  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to handle large data volumes with precision and efficiency.
  • Develop robust REST APIs using Java 17 and Spring Boot, integrating seamlessly with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Collaborate across teams to create scalable, high-quality architecture supporting global operations.
  • Lead performance tuning efforts, ensuring system reliability and speed.
  • Support continuous integration and deployment in cloud environments, contributing to DevOps practices.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior team members and maintain thorough, clear documentation.


Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Java EE/Java 17 development experience.
  • Solid expertise in SQL and Oracle, including query optimization, stored procedures, and PL/SQL.
  • Experience with REST API development using Spring Boot.
  • Strong background in performance tuning databases and queries handling large datasets.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, UDeploy), Docker, and cloud deployment (AWS preferred).
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture, API management, and containerization.
  • Capable of working in Agile environments with excellent communication skills.


Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
  • Cloud experience with AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of Kafka, Kubernetes, DataDog, and infrastructure technologies.
  • Exposure to performance tuning in high-traffic environments.
  • Experience with source control systems like GitHub and version management.


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of professional software development, specifically within data-heavy applications.


Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to spend approximately 50% of your time on database query development, performance tuning, and stored procedures.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across international teams and support multi-year service delivery projects.

Estimated Max Rate: $71.00
