Job Title: Japanese Bilingual Account Development Specialist

Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid)

Office hour: 9:00am - 6:00 pm

Classification: Exempt, Direct Hire, Full-Time

The Japanese Bilingual Account Development Specialist primarily supports the Business Development Team through marketing and business development activities, including preparing reports and presentation materials, conducting research and providing recommendations, coordinating client meetings, and helping to maintain and expand existing corporate relationships. While the role contributes to new business development, it focuses on a relationship-driven sales approach-working with established clients and existing networks rather than cold calling-to identify new opportunities and support long-term growth.

This position requires advanced-level Japanese speaking and writing capability, along with sales communication experience in a corporate B2B environment and the ability to nurture and expand corporate client relationships. The ideal candidate is Japanese bilingual, fluent in speaking, reading, and writing Japanese, and possesses a minimum of three years of B2B Sales and/or Marketing experience.

Additionally, this opportunity is with a company in a strong growth phase, offering significant potential for career advancement as the business continues to expand. As the organization scales, there are opportunities to take on broader responsibilities, develop into more strategic roles, and grow within the business development function. In line with company growth, there is also potential for progression in compensation based on performance and contribution.

Responsibilities:

Track account performance and business development progress by reviewing business objectives, sales results, and relevant market and industry conditions.

Support growth initiatives within existing client accounts and prospective clients by identifying opportunities for expansion, cross-selling, and upselling in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Assist in the preparation, coordination, and review of contracts and agreements with existing and prospective U.S.-based clients and business partners.

Prepare and coordinate presentations, proposals, and promotional materials to support account growth and relationship development activities.

Conduct market and industry research and share insights and findings with the Business Development and Account Management teams to support strategic planning.

Engage with clients and prospects through in-person or virtual meetings to understand current requirements, anticipated needs, and potential growth opportunities.

Support the execution of the sales and account development process, including opportunity identification, account planning, and business expansion activities.

Collaborate closely with internal teams to support cross-functional initiatives, including cross-selling, upselling, and client retention efforts.

Assist with operational and quality assurance activities, including coordination between sales, account servicing, and carrier or business partners as applicable.

Maintain and manage accurate records of prospect and client data, sales activities, and related documentation within internal systems.

Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, prospects, internal teams, and external business partners.

Maintain strict confidentiality of company, client, and partner information at all times.

Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned to support overall business development and account growth objectives.

Qualifications:

1 year experience in B2B sales, business development, and/or marketing in a corporate environment; experience supporting relationship-based sales activities is preferred.

Advanced-level fluency in Japanese (speaking, reading, and writing).

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, internal teams, and business partners.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Benefits:

Medical/Dental/Vision/Life/AD&D/LTD, PTO, Holidays, and 401k

The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance. Depending on the position, benefits may include medical, dental, and vision coverage; retirement and savings plans; paid holidays and time off; supplemental insurance; and additional wellness or incentive programs.
