What you'll be responsible for each day:

The Coagulator Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating the continuous batch process cheese making equipment.

  • Understand the entire feta make process.
  • Set up and run the daily production schedule as needed.
  • Monitor all ingredients used and replenish as needed.
  • Oversee the operation of the coagulator and make corrections as needed.
  • Oversee all conveyors and make corrections as needed.
  • Monitor ware items on equipment and replace per Agropur policy.
  • Monitor the product to keep within make-specification and adjust as needed.
  • Wash equipment as needed and maintain a clean environment.
  • Aid Production Supervisor when running trials.
  • Monitor all chemicals and replenish as needed.
  • Advise Production Supervisor of issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with other plant workers/operators as needed.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Safety Protocol
    • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
    • Support safety policies and programs.

The individual who will own this role:

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience Required:

  • No experience required; in-house training provided.
  • Previous cheese making experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure Required:

  • Cheese Makers and/or Pasteurizer License preferred; in-house training toward Licensure provided.

Skills Required:

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, adapt to a changing environment quickly, and think independently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal and diagrammatic instructions; complete simple checklists and complete required documentation.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to solve problems by adapting knowledge and experience.
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.
