Provides support to the unit and direct patient care to Emergency Department patients. Responsible for providing basic care, which includes taking vital signs, obtaining specimens, observing and reporting information, and basic first aid. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience Work experience as a EMT-B 0-1 year required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong customer service and communication skills. - Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion. - Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. - Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel and the general public. - Successful completion of accredited course: Emergency Medical Technician EMT; or equivalent amount of relevant clinical experience.
