Our
Component Technician is primarily responsible for troubleshooting and rebuilding hydraulic parts and components such as hammers and cylinders for heavy equipment applications.
Pay: $22.81 to $52.05/hr
What You Will Do in This Role:
- Perform all levels of repair as well as full reconditioning on component
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical repairs and adjustments
- Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments
- Some troubleshooting on equipment may occasionally be required
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers on their repairs
- Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Basic mechanical knowledge including mechanical, electrical and hydraulics
- General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments
- Understand crane hoist and rigging equipment (preferred)
- Preferred forklift experience
- Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications
What will put you ahead:
- Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically with hydraulics)
- Welding experience (Mig and Stick)
- Stable work history
- Caterpillar experience a plus
Physical & Working Requirements
- This role involves hands-on mechanical work in a shop environment. The employee must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation. These functions may include:
- Safely and repeatedly lifting components weighing up to 115 pounds without assistance
- Safely lifting, carrying, and lowering components weighing up to 65 pounds without assistance
- Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials
- Climbing on and off equipment and working at varying heights
- Standing, bending, and working in physically demanding positions for extended periods
- Safely operating tools and equipment
