Patient Navigator - Otolaryngology

Are you passionate about helping patients navigate their healthcare journey? Join the Otolaryngology team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital as a Patient Navigator and play a vital role in ensuring patients receive seamless, coordinated care from referral through treatment and follow-up.

In this highly visible role, you will serve as a trusted resource for patients and families, helping coordinate appointments, procedures, and specialty services while partnering closely with physicians, clinical staff, and community resources. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and families, guiding them through the scheduling, pre-procedure, post-procedure, and follow-up care process.
• Coordinate appointments, testing, referrals, surgical procedures, and specialty services while ensuring timely communication between patients, providers, and care teams.
• Advocate for patients by identifying and helping overcome barriers to care, connecting them with appropriate resources, and facilitating access to services.
• Provide administrative support to physicians and department staff, including managing calendars, answering phones, maintaining records, and coordinating communications.
• Obtain, manage, and accurately document patient information, medical records, referrals, and clinical documentation within the electronic health record system.

Minimal Qualifications:

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in a medical clinical office and previous experience as a patient registration associate or Administrative Assistant is preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
