Academic Advisor & Coordinator of Engineering Undeclared Program The Office of Undergraduate Programs in The Grainger College of Engineering seeks applicants for an Academic Advisor & Coordinator of Engineering Undeclared Program. This individual in this role will provide developmental academic advising and support services for undeclared students in The Grainger College of Engineering. This position is responsible for meeting regularly with Engineering Undeclared (EU) students to assist them with the process of exploring majors, course selection, academic support, and major declaration through the Interdepartmental transfer (IDT) process. EU Advisors are responsible for campus-wide promotion of the Intercollegiate Transfer (ICT) process into Grainger Engineering, answering questions about EU from interested students, and assisting with ICT/IDT decisions. Additionally, EU Advisors will serve as College Advisors to over 7,000 undergraduate students in Grainger Engineering to provide information about academic policy and procedures including course registration, late course changes, grade replacement, credit/no-credit, withdrawals, etc. Duties and responsibilities: Provide developmental academic advising services and support the educational and career development of undergraduate students who are in the Engineering Undeclared program in Grainger Engineering.
Serve as a Grainger Engineering College Advisor to advise students on topics such as course selection, academic progress, interdepartmental and intercollegiate transfer decisions, course overloads and underloads, late course drops, dual degree registration, and honors programs. * Participate in the 6-8 week New Student Registration program in June and July for the advising and registration of new EU freshmen students entering the University of Illinois. * Provide support for students during Express Advising (drop-in advising) at designated times throughout the academic year. * Provide support and resources for students on academic probation. * Create * Respond to queries from students, faculty, staff, and parents/families as appropriate (within the parameters of FERPA). * Provide referrals for campus and academic resources for additional support. * Responsible for thorough record-keeping of all student contacts. Provide administrative support and coordination for the on-going development of the Engineering Undeclared program including developing policies and procedures for EU students. * Become proficient with academic and support-related resources at Illinois and specifically those in The Grainger College of Engineering. * Serve as a liaison with department and college colleagues on academic advising issues to ensure accuracy of information.

APPOINTMENT INFORMATION This is an Academic Professional position appointed on a 12-month service basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the closing date. The budgeted salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
