  • Shift: Sunday through Thursday 12:30 pm through 8:00 pm


CW is hiring a Lead Mess Attendant / Cashier to join our team at an on-base dining facility. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys staying active, working with a team, and creating a positive experience for customers. As a working lead, you'll help keep daily operations running smoothly while supporting and guiding fellow team members.



  • Provides hands-on training and day-to-day guidance to mess attendants to ensure work is completed correctly and consistently.

  • Assists with organizing daily tasks and helps keep operations running smoothly during all shifts.

  • Completes mess attendant duties such as cleaning dining areas, restocking supplies, and maintaining overall facility cleanliness and organization.

  • Performs cashier duties, including operating the register, handling cash and card transactions, and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Checks dining and serving areas regularly to ensure they meet cleanliness and safety standards.

  • Supports team members during busy periods and helps address routine questions or minor issues as they come up.

  • Communicates updates, concerns, or team needs to management in a clear and timely manner.


Day in the Life of a Lead Mess Attendant & Cashier at CW Resources:



  • Begin your shift by setting the tone-greet your team, review priorities, and lead by example.

  • Support front-line service by assisting at the register, tidying stations, and helping maintain a smooth flow throughout the dining area.

  • Provide hands-on guidance and help onboard new team members in a supportive, team-focused environment.

  • Keep dining and service areas clean, organized, and fully stocked to support continuous service.

  • Jump in to assist with cashiering or mess attendant duties to keep service efficient during busy periods.

  • Ensure all areas are clean, stocked, and ready for the next team.

  • Balance the register and confirm all transactions are properly recorded.

  • Share updates, notes, or any concerns with incoming staff or leadership to ensure continuity.

  • Help teammates wrap up tasks and end the shift on a strong, collaborative note.


What You'll Need to Be Successful:



  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in food service, dining facility operations, or a similar environment is required.

  • Basic familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems or willingness to learn quickly.

  • Basic understanding of sanitation, food safety, and workplace cleanliness standards.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Valid RealID

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Physical & Environmental Demands:



  • Standing & Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, often on hard surfaces such as tile or concrete.

  • Lifting & Carrying: Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40-50 pounds, including trash bags, supply boxes, and cleaning equipment.

  • Bending & Reaching: Must be able to frequently bend, reach, and kneel to clean under tables, wipe surfaces, and restock supplies.

  • Pushing & Pulling: Must be able to push and pull carts, mop buckets, and other cleaning or service equipment.

  • Repetitive Motion: Must be able to use hands and arms for repetitive tasks such as mopping, wiping, sweeping, and operating cleaning tools.

  • Vision & Awareness: Must have sufficient vision and awareness to follow instructions, maintain safety, and recognize potential hazards in the work area.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Must be able to wear required PPE, such as gloves or masks, when handling cleaning chemicals or performing sanitation duties.

  • Exposure to Environmental Conditions: May be exposed to varying temperatures, including heat and humidity in kitchen and dining areas, as well as occasional exposure to outdoor conditions when supporting facility needs.

  • Noise Levels: Must be able to work in an environment with moderate noise levels from equipment such as vacuums, dish machines, or floor cleaning tools.

  • Team-Based Work Environment: Must be able to work in shared spaces alongside others, maintaining awareness of surroundings and practicing safe, coordinated movement.
