Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Junior Veterinary Technician as part of Comparative Medicine Resources within the Office for Research.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Provides technical support to the veterinarian and veterinary technologists in clinical care to a variety of university research animal species.
  • Assists with treatments, diagnostic sampling, health evaluations and laboratory procedures.

Salary Details $50,000

Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience
  • Associate degree preferably in veterinary technology, biology, animal science, or other related science, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses

  • A driver's license is required with 2 years of experience would be required for this position.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be able to participate in the occupational health program for animal workers, which requires a pre-placement medical evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six months of experience in a laboratory or clinical practice facility, preferably including work in both small animal veterinary practices and the animal research environment.
