Pay Rate/Range: The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $100,000 to $120,000/year. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University. The full salary range for this position is $79,200 to $143,400/year.

Brief Summary of Job Duties:
Provides strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of the Harry Callihan Athletic Training Room, including supervision and development of athletic training personnel and administration of daily operations. Responsible for managing the Sports Medicine budget, coordinating comprehensive healthcare services for student-athletes, and serving as the primary liaison between athletics, team physicians, healthcare providers, and community medical partners. Oversees injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, medical documentation, and the maintenance of athletic training facilities and equipment. Establishes and implements departmental policies, procedures, and best practices to support student-athlete health, safety, and performance. Ensures compliance with all NCAA, conference, university, healthcare, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence in student-athlete care.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in related area
- Master's Degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4-6 years Athletic Training experience
- Professional Certification
- BOCATC Certification
- CPR/AED Certification
- First Aid Certification

- 1-3 years prior supervisory experience

Job Functions and Percentages of Time:
- 45% Direct and Supervise the Athletic Training Program - Administer and develop the policies, procedures, and daily operations of the Harry Callihan Athletic Training Room. Oversee athletic training room scheduling and coverage for practices, and competitions. Manage the procurement and inventory of medical supplies and equipment, authorize purchases, and ensure the maintenance and functionality of all athletic training, rehabilitation, and therapeutic equipment.
- 45% Prevention, Recognition, Treatment - Travel with assigned teams to practices, competitions, and other Athletics-related events as needed. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Athletic Director. Maintain a high standard of professionalism and ethical conduct while representing UCSB Athletics. Maintain all required professional certifications and licenses, including completion of continuing education requirements necessary to remain in good standing and stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends in sports medicine. Represent UCSB Athletics through educational presentations, workshops, and outreach opportunities for campus and community groups as appropriate.
- 10% Other - Travel with assigned teams to practices, competitions, and other Athletics-related events as needed. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Athletic Director.
