**THIS POSITION IS REMOTE** Job Summary: The Human Resource Business Partner will support department tasking while acting as a strategic advisor to align HR strategies with organizational goals using technology. The focus will be on day-to-day tasking while working closely with the internal Transformation team on identifying and implementing automation and artificial intelligence. Must be experienced with standard HR metrics and understanding of state and federal regulations. As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with the assigned supervisor, and staying focused on the assigned tasks. Responsibilities: Human Resources Department Tasking:
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Facilitates the corporate training initiatives for management. Writing and presenting SOPs, training, and presentations.
- Supports onboarding and offboarding processes. Orientation, I-9s, employee set up, and employee support.
- Facilitates leave of absences, calculates benefit premiums, ensures compliance, and supports employees.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies, handbook, and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
Automation Implementation Tasking:
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Identifies, creates, and implements HR process improvements using automation tools that support both HR regulations and federal contracting support including Service Contracts Act (SCA), OFCCP, and EEO/AA requirements.
- Lead change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new HRIS tools, automated systems, and compliance portals across highly technical employee populations.
- Trains and mentors employees in the HR Department on automation and AI technology implementation including providing SOPs and documentation.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
- Actively support the company's initiative to integrate advanced and emerging technologies, automation, and data-driven solutions into daily operations.
- Identify and report opportunities to HR leadership to improve efficiency and quality through the responsible use of advanced technologies, intelligent tools, and automated processes.
- Be adaptable to updated workflows and practices to align with evolving company technology strategies and digital transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate with teams to test, implement, and optimize technology-enabled solutions, including artificial intelligence and other current or successor technologies, that enhance productivity and business outcomes.
Qualifications: Basic:
- High School Diploma; and Bachelor's degree or five years work experience in a related field
- 5+ years' experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite applications
- Experience with AI tools (JSM, ChatGPT, Claude, Google NotebookLM)
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related state and federal laws and regulations in multiple states, especially CA and VA
- Experience with automated HR workflows, digital onboarding systems, and/or HRIS modules (ADP, Workday, etc.)
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Professional HR certification
- 2+ years' experience supervising employees
- 2+ years' experience training employees and managers
- Proficiency with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools and/or low-code HR automation platforms
- Experience working with the military and/or government contracting
