Overview:

The Institute of Defense Analyses (IDA) has an immediate career opening for a full time Property Administrator in our Center for Communications Research located in Princeton, New Jersey (CCRP). This opening is located at IDA's Center for Communications Research in Princeton, New Jersey (CCRP). Compensation:

We support transparency, equity and fairness in our compensation program and provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range based on data-driven market analysis for each position. While it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $51,000 - $81,000. Individual salary within this range will be commensurate with the incumbent's experience, unique skills and qualifications and other relevant factors.

Responsibilities:

  1. Receives and issues all property including furniture, office machinery, computers, and software. Complies with tracking system requirements in assigning numbers and recording data. Reports discrepancies such as shortages, damages, scheduling, and repairs to the Sr. Purchasing Administrator.
  2. Maintains/updates automated inventory programs (both internal and sponsor required), ensuring information is current and accurate.
  3. For applicable contract, maintains and modifies property accounting systems for: leased CCR property, CCR-owned capital property, CCR-acquired government property and government furnished property.
  4. Prepares all requests to government property administrator for relief of property accountability, and for government instruction and approval to dispose of property.
  5. Conducts periodic and annual inventories of government property and prepares required reports by category, such as contract, acquisition or disposal, cost and value.
  6. Monitors property for serviceability, makes recommendations for repair and replacement, makes appropriate disposition as needed; moves furniture and equipment as necessary. Performs general maintenance of furniture and equipment. Processes purchase requisitions for parts, repairs or replacement.
  7. Maintains control of facilities/computer hardware parts, and janitorial and printer consumables in inventory database and keeps stock at required levels.
  8. Keeps abreast of government property administration practices and regulations, and terms and provisions of U.S. Government-IDA contracts relating to the acquisition, use, control, and disposition of property
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years' experience in purchasing or property control functions, preferably in a government contract environment

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of automated inventory tracking system
  • Experience using database management systems or word processing software, preferable in a Linux/Unix environment
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required
