RSCH Core Facilities Job Description
The University of Missouri's Animal Modeling Core (AMC) at Discovery Ridge is seeking an experienced Senior Research Specialist to perform and support specialized laboratory and research procedures in a collaborative translational research environment. Key responsibilities of this position include: 1. Manage rodent colonies, including animal husbandry tasks such as breeding, weaning, identification/tagging, sample collection, necropsy, and tissue harvesting. Additional expectations for this position include: This position will also collaborate and interface closely with multiple university partners, including the Office of Animal Resources, the College of Veterinary Medicine, and other campus research units. Shift
Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 p.m. occasional nights and weekends Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
Degree with emphasis in an appropriate area of science is necessary (i.e., Biology, Animal Science, Genetics, etc.). Experience in laboratory research, rodent handling, rodent colony management, DNA isolation, PCR, and standard molecular biology techniques is preferred. Anticipated Hiring Range
