Compensation At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position in the United States is $ $116,440 - $154,283.00. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria. Join our Team as a Lead Mulesoft Developer! S&C Electric is seeking a Lead MuleSoft Developer to join our Salesforce & Integrations team. As the Lead MuleSoft Developer, you will own the integration architecture across Salesforce, ERP systems, data platforms, and internal applications, driving API-led connectivity patterns at an enterprise scale. You will lead integration projects end-to-end, set technical direction for the MuleSoft platform, and coach developers on the team. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders and technology leaders to translate complex business requirements into scalable integration solutions, establishing standards for design, development, deployment, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the integration architecture for Mule applications; lead technical design across projects
- Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and other systems such as Oracle ERP, data platforms, financial systems, and internal services.
- Author DataWeave 2.0 transformations to map, filter, and enrich data across connected systems.
- Design RESTful and SOAP-based APIs using RAML or OAS specifications; publish and manage APIs in Anypoint Exchange.
- Implement reusable integration patterns including error handling frameworks, retry logic, and structured logging.
- Lead integration project delivery end-to-end, including planning, design, development, deployment, versioning, and deprecation across the API portfolio.
- Build and maintain Salesforce integrations including Platform Events, Change Data Capture, Bulk API, and REST/SOAP-based flows.
- Engineer and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment of Mule applications using Maven and Jenkins or GitHub Actions; define pipeline standards and branching strategies for the team.
- Deploy and manage Mule applications on CloudHub and/or Runtime Fabric; configure environments, property management, and secrets.
- Monitor integration health through Anypoint Monitoring; configure alerts and dashboards for operational visibility.
- Lead performance optimization across the integration platform; establish benchmarks, conduct capacity planning, and drive tuning of application threading, connection pooling, and memory allocation to meet enterprise throughput and latency targets.
- Drive test automation strategy for MuleSoft integrations; define coverage targets and maintain MUnit test suites across flows and DataWeave transformations.
- Define and enforce documentation standards for the integration team, including templates and quality criteria for integration design documents, data mapping specifications, and operational runbooks.
- Collaborate with the Lead Business Analyst to convert integration requirements into technical designs and delivery estimates.
- Partner with the Data & Analytics teams on data mapping, transformation logic, and schema alignment for data-platform integrations.
- Lead code reviews, define coding standards, and coach team members on development best practices and design patterns.
- Drive the secure development practice for integration workloads; define security review processes, enforce compliance with organizational security standards, and mentor developers on secure coding patterns.
- Lead incident response for critical integration failures; proactively identify systemic risks and implement preventive measures to reduce production incidents.
Additional Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the MuleSoft platform governance framework, including API naming standards, versioning policies, reuse metrics, and Anypoint Exchange catalog hygiene.
- Evaluate new MuleSoft platform capabilities and recommend adoption where they add value.
- Coach and develop junior and mid-level developers through structured onboarding, paired programming, and regular technical mentoring sessions.
What You'll Need to Succeed Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
- MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 2
- Proficiency in DataWeave 2.0 for complex JSON/XML transformation, filtering, and data enrichment.
- 7+ years of hands-on development experience on MuleSoft Anypoint Platform using Mule 4 Runtime, including experience leading integration projects and mentoring developers.
- Experience deploying Mule applications to CloudHub, including runtime configuration and environment promotion.
- Deep expertise in API-led connectivity architecture (System, Process, Experience API layers) with demonstrated ability to define and evolve enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience designing and building REST APIs using RAML or OpenAPI Specification (OAS/Swagger).
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce integration patterns: Platform Events, REST/SOAP APIs, Bulk API, or Change Data Capture.
- Proficiency in MUnit for writing unit and integration tests for Mule flows.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD tooling (Maven, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) applied to MuleSoft deployment pipelines.
- Understanding of API security patterns including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and TLS/SSL.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to lead cross-team troubleshooting of complex integration issues and drive root-cause analysis to resolution.
Preferred
- MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect - Required
- Salesforce Platform Developer I or Administrator Certification - Plus
- Experience with Runtime Fabric or on-premises Mule runtime deployment.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Sales Cloud, CPQ, or Revenue Cloud in an integration context.
- Experience integrating with ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) via MuleSoft connectors.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience integrating with platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake or Azure Synapse.
