Job Summary:

As a General Manager, you will manage the activity in your assigned facility in a manner that maximizes productivity, meets customer requirements, minimizes costs, advances lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices, promotes responsible use of AI tools and concepts to support operational decision-making, and maintains a safe working environment in accordance with company policy.



Essential Functions:




  • Review development of plant-wide budgets and follow up on variances from actual activity.





  • Prepare the facility capital expenditure plan and review equipment justifications.





  • Provide strategic direction and operational leadership to ensure facility performance aligns with company goals, customer expectations and financial objectives.





  • Direct manufacturing to meet customer and company expectations.





  • Establish quality target goals for each manufacturing department.





  • Participate on cross-functional task teams.





  • Champion lean manufacturing practices, continuous improvement initiatives, waste reduction efforts and standardized work processes across direct and indirect areas of responsibility.





  • Evaluate and support appropriate use of AI tools, automation concepts and data-driven technologies to improve productivity, quality, scheduling, problem solving and operational decision-making while following company policies and data confidentiality requirements.





  • Develop direct and indirect reports through coaching, training and succession planning, while maintaining role readiness through key process documentation and leadership bench development.





  • Ensure all safety and work rules and regulations are followed.





  • Communicate with departments throughout the corporation as needed.





  • Communicate with customers and sales representatives as needed.





  • Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.





  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, root cause analysis and waste reduction.





  • Ability to responsibly apply AI, automation and data tools to support business goals and decisions.





  • Ability to develop direct and indirect reports through coaching, delegation and succession planning.





  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, align and support teams across a multi-shift operation.





  • Ability to read, interpret and follow instructions, procedures and related materials.





  • Strong verbal, written and customer service skills.





  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately.





  • Advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Windows-based databases.




Minimum Requirements:




  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or a related field and ten years of experience in print manufacturing preferred; or





  • Associate degree in Business, Finance or a related field and twelve years of experience in print manufacturing preferred.
