We're seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Application Development Manager to join our Markets Engineering team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Manage multiple application development projects across Securities Finance Platform, overseeing all phases of the software development lifecycle from analysis and design through implementation and support.
- Lead the delivery of application solutions across diverse platforms, technologies, software, hardware, and computing environments.
- Partner closely with business stakeholders to define, develop, and implement technology solutions that improve business performance and drive revenue or cost impact.
- Oversee multiple application systems and development teams, ensuring effective execution, coordination, and alignment with business and technology objectives.
- Define resource requirements, allocate team capacity, and promote best-practice development techniques to improve quality, efficiency, and delivery outcomes.
- Ensure the availability, stability, and integrity of production systems by establishing strong support processes and responding quickly to operational issues.
- Communicate timely, accurate, and relevant project updates to stakeholders, leadership, and other impacted parties.
- Recruit, lead, motivate, and develop team members while fostering innovation, change management, collaboration, and strong overall team performance.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree is beneficial
- 12+ years of experience in systems analysis and application development, including supervisory, management, or technology leadership responsibilities.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing technology teams across multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to address complex technical and operational challenges effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business partners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale application development initiatives across diverse technologies and platforms.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, production support, and best-practice development methodologies.
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry is preferred.
