The State Highway Administration's (SHA) Office of Real Estate (ORE) (Prince George's County) is currently recruiting for a Real Property Manager position. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification.


Nature of Work
: The main purpose of this position is to manage a district office or an acquisition right-of-way office in Headquarters and assist the District Engineer and the Director of the Office of Real Estate (ORE). The management duties of this position include organizing and scheduling people and resources needed to acquire SHA right-of-way on multiple projects, on time, and within budget. These activities are carried out in accordance with applicable law and regulations. This position coordinates real estate activities with the Project Planning Division, Highway Design Division, Plats and Surveys Section, Office of Finance, Office of Counsel, Headquarters Office of Real Estate personnel, other divisions in district offices and consultants. The acquisition of right-of-way necessitates frequent communications with the general public and elected officials.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Eight (8) years of experience in providing real estate services, two (2) years of this experience must have involved supervising other employees and/or consultant staff functioning as Real Property Specialists or managing real estate projects or reviewing appraisals.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Excellent written and oral communication


Notes:

1. Additional experience in professional or technical real estate work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required bachelor's degree for up to four years.

2. U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the minimum qualifications may be substituted for the required education and experience on a year-for-year basis.


Licenses & Certifications

Candidate must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland.
