Working Title: Building Utilities MechanicInstitution: South Central CollegeClassification Title: Bargaining Unit / Union: 202: AFSCME - Craft, Maintenance, and LaborCity: North MankatoFLSA: Non Job ExemptFull Time / Part Time: Full timeEmployment Condition: Classified - UnlimitedSalary Range: Job Description The Building Utilities Mechanic at South Central College is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing boilers, building automation control systems, plumbing fixtures, and other Facility related equipment. The position requires an understanding of chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and water treatment systems.The Building Utilities Mechanic may exercise some responsibilities for purchasing materials for work performed by outside vendors, and approvals of bill of landing/invoices. Work is done in accordance with established procedures, and frequent and detailed instructions are given on new and complex work. Under general supervision, this position troubleshoots, diagnoses, and performs semi-skilled jobs in a variety of trade areas. Work is usually assigned and inspected by the Director of Facilities. This position will collaboratively work with other Facilities staff and skilled trades to support classrooms, laboratories, administrative spaces, and mechanicals systems for South Central College. Responsibilities 1. Operate, Maintain, and Repair Building Utility Systems
2. Provide Facilities Support, Emergency Response, and Seasonal Operations
3. Safety Compliance and Documentation
4. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.

This position supports both campuses and travel to the Faribault Campus is expected.
