The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for performing advanced accounts payable functions to support Tria Federal's financial operations. This role ensures the accurate and timely processing of invoices, adherence to internal controls, and strong collaboration across departments. The Specialist will serve as a key contributor to the integrity of the company's financial data and the efficiency of the AP workflow.

Responsibilities:



  • Review, validate, and process vendor invoices in accordance with company policies and established AP procedures.
  • Perform twoway matching (PO and invoice) and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with Procurement, Project Managers, and vendors.
  • Prepare and execute weekly payment runs, including ACH, check payments, ensuring proper approvals and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and complete AP records to support internal controls and audit readiness.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries, research payment issues, and maintain updated vendor profiles and required documentation.
  • Review and process employee expense reimbursements in accordance with company travel and expense policies.
  • Support monthend close activities, including AP accruals, aging analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Assist in developing and refining AP processes to improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure timely resolution of APrelated issues.


Required Qualifications



  • 5-7 years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, preferably within a professional services or projectbased environment.
  • Strong understanding of AP workflows, internal controls, and invoice lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, or similar).
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment while meeting deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with Unanet.
  • Knowledge of vendor onboarding, 1099 processing, and yearend AP reporting.
  • Experience supporting audit activities or internal control reviews.
