| Duties and Responsibilities |
Summary: The Buyer conducts the procurement of goods, materials, equipment, supplies, and services for the University. Provides excellent customer service to stakeholders throughout the procurement process, including researching suppliers, evaluating market pricing, and tracking spend.
This role will end on September 30, 2027.
- Communicates with requesters and suppliers to facilitate procurement of goods, materials, equipment, supplies, and services.
- Evaluates market pricing to obtain the best value for the University relative to cost, quality, and delivery.
- Researches and identifies potential suppliers, solicits proposals, and recommends sources.
- Processes and places purchase orders using ERP system (Lawson) through established processes.
- Reconciles and maintains documentation to ensure compliance with the University's policies, including the University Contract Policy, the Purchasing Policy, the Capital Expenditure Policy, grant and gift policies, and other policies.
- Conducts training for University stakeholders on purchasing policies and system utilization.
- Coordinates with internal stakeholders (including Accounts Payable) to resolve invoicing issues.
- Reconciles reports to ensure timely identification and resolution of invoicing or receiving issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

| Minimum Education and/or Work Experience |
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent and two to four years of purchasing experience required.

| Qualifications |
Experience placing purchase orders using an
ERP, experience using Infor Lawson highly preferred.

| Computer Skills |
Use of common applications like Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint, OneDrive) and searching the Internet. Experience placing purchase orders in Infor Lawson highly preferred.
