Monday- Thursday, 4am to 2:30pm. Position Summary The Production Team Lead is responsible for providing leadership and support to production team members in designated areas within operations for assigned shift. Responsibilities Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety procedures and use of PPE.
- Execute hazard identification walks and drive resolution.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide daily leadership and support to production team members.
- Communicate company goals, safety protocols, and deadlines clearly and consistently.
- Motivate, coach, and develop team members through feedback, training, and recognition.
- Collaborate with Supervisors, Operation/Production Managers, and HR on hiring, training, and performance management.
Operations Oversight
- Oversee daily team operations to ensure performance aligns with production goals and customer expectations.
- Cover production responsibilities for operator call ins, staffing shortages, etc.
- Monitor production processes and proactively resolve any operational issues.
- Ensure adherence to standard work, production schedules, and SOPs.
- Own and manage morning operational control to ensure a smooth daily startup.
- Lead daily Tier 1 and Tier 2 meetings ensuring area day by interval boards are updated and visible.
Quality & Performance
- Track and address performance metrics in real time.
- Document and investigate issues when performance drops below expectations.
- Support the creation, implementation, and follow-up of SOPs and process improvements.
- Audit material transactions and enforce Epicor (ERP software) accuracy through daily reviews.
- Conduct and support cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Cross-Training & Resource Management
- Maintain and update the team's resource rotation calendar.
- Lead weekly department rotations to build cross-functional skills.
- Rotate team members across departments and overtime shifts for flexibility and development.
- Assign and manage workload distribution to ensure proper coverage and efficiency.
Technology & Systems Support
- Train team members on systems such as Epicor and Ignition/Kanoa (Manufacturing Execution System).
- Ensure proper data entry and accountability with material movements and production reporting.
Additional Responsibilities
- Track and restock non-inventoried items in assigned area as needed to prevent delays.
- Support 5S, lean manufacturing initiatives, and other continuous improvement efforts.
- Fill in for supervisor responsibilities as needed and ensure continuity during leadership absences.
Personal Attributes and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor others in a manufacturing team environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime.
- Willingness to become Forklift Certified.
- Prior Team Lead or Supervisor experience preferred.
- Experience in metal or wood machining a plus.
- Exposure to coating application a plus.
Work Environment This job is primarily performed in a manufacturing floor environment near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the production environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently interacts with individuals in an office environment. The noise level in the office is generally moderate.
