Job Objective:
Diagnoses problems and performs necessary repairs on machinery and/or related mechanical equipment, and helps maintain a safe work environment for the company. Coordinates and leads PMs, projects, and daily activities for their given group.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and repairs mechanical and electrical faults by discussion with field operators, listening to machinery and using specialized testing equipment.
  • Investigates faulty machinery/mechanical equipment, check parts using equipment, and refer to workshop manuals.
  • Cleans, lubricates and tunes mechanical equipment to make them run properly.
  • Repairs damaged or faulty parts with new or rebuilt parts.
  • Repairs and adjust electrical faults in mechanical equipment.
  • Monitors and reads gauges to verify sufficient levels of fluids, air pressure, and oxygen.
  • Shuts down the machinery/mechanical equipment, following supervisor's instructions, in case of an emergency.
  • Maintains records of daily activates, and prepares progress reports.
  • Works closely with operations to ensure projects are performed in a safe and timely manner.
  • Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for tech support, questions, emergencies, etc.).
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Ensure safety policy & procedures are followed. PPE - LOTO - WORK PERMITS etc.
  • Leads by Example.
  • Coordinate scheduled & unscheduled maintenance, repair, and operational activities.
  • Assist assigned techs with all major PM's.
  • Assist assigned techs with investigating, correcting and documenting oil sample and analyzer alerts.
  • Ensure that baseline PM task guidelines are followed.
  • Assist assigned techs with trouble shooting problems.
  • Investigate all unplanned unit shutdowns. Ensure the corrective action was appropriate and completed.
  • Coordinate & Assist assigned techs with daily activities as needed. Operator reports - Parameter checks - site eff. Etc.
  • Conduct periodic Mechanical Training for assigned techs.
  • Ensure assigned techs are meeting established requirements. (See personal requirements sheet).
  • Fills in for foreman in their absence.
  • Develop call out schedule.
  • Communicate with Supervisor about assigned techs performance.
  • Work with Supervisor to determine when contractors are needed.
  • Assist assigned tech with managing contractors.
  • Ensure assigned techs close work orders in EAM for equipment PMs and Environmental tasks.
  • Assist assigned techs with unit & site housekeeping activities as needed.
  • Manage check in and check out program.
  • Be proficient with Ariel Performance Program and provide runs for Project Management and Engineering as needed.
  • Attend PHA and Project reviews.
  • Adheres to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment and innovation.

  • Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Eight (8) years minimum of oil and gas mechanic experience.
  • Requires minimal supervision, direction, and training in the performance of any complex compression related task.
  • Demonstrates an increased ability to work unsupervised, act upon an acquired knowledge of how the facilities function, anticipates and corrects problems before they occur or before other parts of the facility are affected.
  • Demonstrates the ability to routinely operate machinery/mechanical equipment unsupervised, while maintaining the facility in a safe, environmentally sound condition and maintaining neat and accurate records of the operations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize when non-standard or non-routine conditions exist at the facility, notify supervisory staff, and offer recommendations for solutions to the problem.
  • Basic mathematic and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to consider safety in all decisions.

Education Requirements:

  • Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
