Overview The Sunshine Water Services team has an opportunity for an Electrician. This role is under general supervision, performs related to the operation of water and/or wastewater treatment facilities. Maintains plant compliance with EPA standards and state water Commission. Performs general cleaning of grounds and buildings. Ensures plant safety and sanitary requirements. Work Location and Schedule This position will travel between service areas near Altamonte Springs, FL. Schedule is Monday through Friday. After-hour and weekend on-call support may be required. Must be available to work shift work; weekend scheduling may be required. What You'll Do
- Performs electrical service, installations, alterations and repair work on electrical building systems including but not limited to the 120/208v and 600v electrical distribution system equipment, emergency power distribution system equipment, general lighting system, fire alarm system, and mechanical building systems equipment such as air handling units, air conditioning units, air compressors and electric motors
- Performs assigned electrical preventive maintenance work for equipment and building systems
- Reviews assigned work requests and schedules daily tasks by consulting with end users for access to work area in allotted time
- Determines necessary materials, tools and equipment required to perform
- Refers to blueprints and shop drawings to minimize operating impact on the end users prior to any work start
- Ensures all work assignments are executed in conformance with current regulatory codes, and WCB regulations
- Ensures site electrical work conforms to current provincial electrical code
- Maintains an inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools; evaluates/recommends purchase of related equipment and supplies
- Performs other related duties as required
What You'll Bring Experience
- Requires at least 2 years of mechanical work experience
Education and Certification
- High school Diploma or GED
- Must maintain a valid driver's license.
- Certified Journey-level electrician
Nice to Have
- Water meter reading experience preferred
- May be in process of obtaining Distribution and/or Collections Systems certificate or first-level plant operating license.
Physical and Technical Skills
- Ability to frequently perform moderate to heavy physical demands, including lifting (75 lbs.), walking (10+ miles daily), climbing and mechanical repair.
- Ability to read and comprehend written technical information and to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to review, classify, categorize, prioritize and/or analyze data.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers and regulatory agencies.
- Familiarity with computer applications MS Word, Excel and utilizing tablet and mobile device; ability to learn internal software programs Ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools and/or materials used in performing essential functions.
