Operating at the intersection of industrial base analysis, defense acquisition, sustainment operations, strategic sourcing, and mission assurance, this role ensures that mitigation strategies are operationally executable, industrially realistic, and aligned to Department of War (DoW) priorities and authorities.
Embedded on-site withina highly sensitiveDoWenvironment at Hill Air Force Base, this individual serves as a trusted advisor to senior uniformed and civilian leadership responsible for protecting strategically critical defense capabilities from supply chain disruption, adversarial dependency, industrial fragility, and operational readiness risk.
This role serves as the primary interface supporting government stakeholders on supply chain risk management (SCRM) mattersimpactingmission-critical technologies, defense industrial base resiliency, and operational continuity. The advisor applies deepexpertisein defense sustainment, acquisition, industrial capacity analysis, and strategic risk mitigation to enable seniorleadersdecisions in support of national security objectives.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of defense supply chains, strategic technologies, industrial manufacturing ecosystems, and Department of War processes and protocols at a senior level. WhatYou'll Do:
- Support executive-level decision-making through briefings, read-aheads, risk assessments, and actionable mitigation recommendations for senior civilian and military leaders.
- Translate complex analytical findings into decision-grade recommendations aligned to mission assurance, operational readiness, and modernization priorities.
- Serve as a senior advisor supportingDoWleadership on supply chain risk management and mission assurance initiatives tied to critical defense capabilities and strategic technologies.
- Advise government stakeholders on risksimpactingdefense supply chains, including foreign dependency, supplier concentration, industrial base fragility, manufacturing constraints, counterfeit components, cybersecurity exposure, and geopolitical disruption.
- Assess andvalidatemitigation strategies by applying expert judgment on operational feasibility, industrial base capacity, sustainment realities, and defense acquisition authorities.
- Evaluate industrial base resilience and supplier ecosystems supporting mission-critical defense programs, advanced weapons systems, and strategic operational capabilities.
- Coordinate across acquisition, sustainment,logistics, engineering, intelligence, and operational stakeholders to drive integrated supply chain risk mitigation efforts.
- Provide technical and operational context on manufacturing capabilities, strategic sourcing pathways, production constraints, and defense sustainment considerations.
- Support the refinement of methodologies, frameworks, and validation standards for defense-focused supply chain risk management initiatives.
- Operate effectively within classified environments while supportinghighly sensitivenational security priorities.
What You Need:
- 10+ years of experience supportingDoW, national security, defense acquisition, sustainment, industrial base analysis, operationallogistics, or mission assurance initiatives.
- Demonstratedexpertisein Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) within defense, aerospace, space systems, sustainment, or related national security environments.
- Experience advising senior government leaders within a Military Department, program executive office, system program office, sustainment orlogisticscenter, major command, or defense agency.
- Strong understanding of defense industrial base operations, manufacturing ecosystems, sustainmentlogistics, and strategic supplier networks.
- Proven ability to assess the feasibility and operational impact of mitigation strategies across complex, multi-tier defense supply chains.
- Familiarity withDoWacquisition processes, sustainment frameworks, industrial readiness considerations, and mission assurance priorities.
- Exceptional communication and executive briefing skills with experience presenting to senior military officers, SES leadership, or equivalent stakeholders.
- Ability tooperateindependently in fast-paced, high-consequence national security environments.
- Active TS/SCI clearancerequiredattimeof hire.
