Description

The CMA will ensure department daily operations run smoothly and effectively. Responsible for the delivery of optimum quality care to patients while in Pre-op, OR, PACU and Phase II, under the supervision of registered nurses.

This is a part-time, .75 FTE, role working Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays. 10-hour shifts, variable start and end times. No weekends or Holidays out of our TCO Two Twelve Surgery Center.

Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.


Essential Functions:

  • Prepare procedure rooms for pain management procedures by ensuring appropriate sterile supplies, needles, drapes, injectates, and imaging support equipment are available, functional, and ready prior to patient arrival.
  • Assist physicians during interventional pain management procedures-including epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, medial branch blocks, sacroiliac (SI) joint injections, radiofrequency ablations, and other pain procedures-within Medical Assistant scope of practice and under physician direction.
  • Support equipment setup, patient positioning, and procedural workflow specific to pain management procedures to ensure patient safety and efficient operation.
  • Assist with TenJet procedures, including room setup, sterile supply preparation, patient positioning, intraprocedure assistance as directed, and postprocedure dressing application per established protocols. Ensure accurate charge capture and documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Set up, turn over, and clean procedure rooms efficiently between cases to support ontime operations and maintain infection prevention standards.
  • Restock procedure rooms and surrounding areas daily; monitor and maintain accurate par levels for all supplies and medications. Rotate supplies according to expiration dates and infection control standards.
  • Proactively identify and report supply shortages, expired items, equipment concerns, or maintenance needs to leadership or appropriate departments.
  • Coordinate with sterile processing, supply chain, or vendor representatives as needed to ensure availability of required supplies, instruments, or equipment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in assignments and responsibilities to support daily operational needs of the surgery center, including floating between areas as needed.
  • Accountable for reporting occurrences through the center's established reporting process related to employee and/or patient/visitor events.


  • Fosters the developmental and educational process of self, colleagues, orientees and students (includes functioning as a preceptor, as needed).
  • Participates in acceptable continuing education, fostering career and skill development including meeting departmental continuing education requirements.
  • Assists in managing controllable costs by the proper, non-wasteful use of surgery center resources.

Education and Experience Requirements:



  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of Medical Assistant program with a current MA certification required
  • Current BLS certification or completed upon hire.

    • Actual starting pay will vary based on education, skills, and experience.

    • The pay range displayed reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated for employees working less than a full-time schedule.

    Working Conditions:



    • Frequentlylift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
    • Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift.
    • Must be able to frequently perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.
    • Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents.
    • Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly.
    • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer).

      • Travel independently throughout the clinic, office or surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required
      • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting and moving of a maximum of 50 pounds may be required
      • Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
      • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
      • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
      • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
      • Understand and execute a variety of instructions
      • Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
      • Work independently with minimal supervision
      • Travel to other work locations, if required
