Why This Role Stands Out * Growth-focused environment - expand your technical skills and influence architecture decisions * People-first culture - your ideas are heard and valued from day one * Stability + long-term opportunity - strong team retention and supportive leadership * Meaningful work - build solutions that drive real value for customers * Collaborative team - work alongside engineers who share knowledge and support each other * This is a desktop-first development role (not web-focused) What You'll Do * Design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications in a multi-tier architecture * Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews * Collaborate with QA and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software * Contribute to architecture decisions with a focus on scalability, performance, and security * Translate business requirements into technical solutions * Build and maintain backend services and system integrations supporting desktop applications * Perform unit and system testing, supporting TDD practices * Troubleshoot issues and assist with escalations when needed * Participate in an on-call support rotation What You Bring * 3+ years of professional software development experience * Strong background in C#/.NET and object-oriented programming * Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and relational databases * Experience implementing MVVM design pattern in WPF applications * Familiarity with Entity Framework (or similar ORM tools) * Hands-on experience building Windows desktop applications using WPF/XAML * Understanding of client-server or distributed architectures * Experience with test-driven development and automated testing * Experience supporting backend services and system integrations What Makes You a Great Fit * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work both independently and collaboratively * Effective communication and organization skills * A mindset focused on continuous improvement and innovation Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience) Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billings, MT. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.06 - $43.27/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
