American Pediatric Dental Group is seeking a skilled, compassionate, and patient-focused Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our growing pediatric dental team. As an EFDA, you'll play an essential role in creating positive dental experiences for children while supporting our doctors in delivering exceptional clinical care. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with kids, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing outstanding patient care.
Schedule
Monday: 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM | 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Tuesday: 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM | 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Wednesday: 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM | 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Thursday: 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM | 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Friday: 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM | 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Saturday: 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM
What You'll Do
Clinical Support
Assist dentists during restorative, surgical, and other pediatric dental procedures
Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care
Maintain infection control and sterilization standards
Ensure treatment rooms are clean, organized, and fully stocked
Expanded Functions
Patient Care
Welcome and prepare patients for treatment
Help children feel comfortable and at ease throughout their visit
Educate patients and parents on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment instructions
Deliver exceptional customer service to every patient and family
Office Support
Maintain accurate patient records
Assist with scheduling and appointment confirmations when needed
Monitor and help maintain dental supply inventory
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Current Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA/EDDA) certification as required by state regulations
Dental Radiology (X-Ray) Certification
Nitrous Oxide Certification (if required by state)
Current CPR Certification
Preferred
Pediatric dental experience
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Experience working in a dental or healthcare environment
