A large manufacturing facility in Chicago is looking for an experienced Workers' Compensation Claims Handler to manage plant-based claims from first report through resolution. If you have a strong Illinois WC background and thrive in a fast-paced, onsite environment, this role puts you at the center of a high-impact operation.

What You'll Do



  • Investigate, analyze, and process complex workers' compensation claims, including lost time cases
  • Develop and execute action plans for timely, cost-effective claim resolution
  • Calculate, assign, and manage reserves throughout the life of each claim
  • Calculate and pay benefits; approve payments, adjustments, and settlements within authority level
  • Prepare state filings within statutory deadlines
  • Coordinate vendor referrals for investigation and litigation management
  • Apply cost containment strategies through strategic vendor partnerships
  • Manage claim recoveries: subrogation, Second Injury Fund, Social Security and Medicare offsets
  • Report claims to excess carrier and maintain accurate file documentation
  • Communicate claim status with claimants and client stakeholders


What You Bring (Experience, Qualifications and Requirements)



  • 3-5 years of Illinois workers' compensation claims management experience
  • Lost time claim handling experience required
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a full caseload of varying severity
